SHOULD STUDENTS BE ALLOWED TO GRADE THEIR TEACHERS?

Students and teachers are two of the important elements in a world of education. Teachers are the educators that can influence their students very well either good influence or bad influence. So, in that case, students and teachers must have a good relationship and like each other especially for the students themselves. One of the way to detect either a teacher is using the right teaching method or not is by grading them.
For me, the students should grade their teachers because we are able to know either they like their teachers or not. This is because, when the students like their teachers, they tend to be more focus during the learning session. This is good for the students themselves as they can learn something new in a faster way. We have heard that a person with delightful and attractive character can attract and encourage the others to do something. Same goes to the students.
Apart from that, when the students grade their teachers especially their performance and capability to teach, the teachers are able to know their level of teaching and either the current way of teaching is effective enough or not. Then, this will lead them to find new ideas to come out with as many ways as they can in order to improve their way of teaching.
Next, in Malaysia, we are always conducting this kind of survey among the students to grade their teachers. If the teacher or educator gets low votes from the students, the organization of education will send the teacher for a course to improve their skills and ways of teaching. If she or he comes out with the new effective ways of teaching, it can improve the education system by producing many educated generations. As we can see, the students themselves can help in improving our education system.
But, there are few reasons and doubts that make the students should not be allowed to grade their teachers because not all the students can differentiate something good or bad especially when we refer to primary school students. They cannot judge their teachers very well with their early childhood thinking.
Other than that, the students sometimes tend to lie and judge their teachers according to their appearance and not the ability to teach them. Especially when we talk about the college or university level. They do not care either they are able to understand the topic taught by their lecturers.
In a conclusion, based on the points given above, I think that students should be allowed to grade their teachers. They can help the educators to become more aware about the important of implementing effective ways to help the students. It is also depend to the students themselves either to help the government to improve the education system or downgrade the system.
